Draw a Curlew Competition 2021 

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1. These terms and conditions set out the rules governing the ECHOES Draw a Curlew Competition.

2. ENTERING THE COMPETITION

2.1. The drawing competition is open to children (Entrants) aged between 6–11 years who are living along the Irish Sea coastlines, please see the areas in white on the map below.

2.2. To enter the Competition, parents or guardians of Entrants should ensure the Entrant’s drawing is submitted by 9pm BST 18th April 2021.

2.3. Entrants can enter the Competition by emailing a high quality scan or photo to info@echoesproj.eu with the subject line CURLEW DRAWING COMP.

2.4. When submitting the competition entry, parents or guardians of Entrants must provide the Entrant’s first name and age. We also need the full name of the parent or guardian + contact details (email and home address) to the person who is sending the drawing on the Entrant’s behalf.

2.5. Entrants may only submit one entry to the Competition.

2.6. ECHOES employees and their families are ineligible to enter the Competition.

3. PICKING THE WINNING ENTRIES

3.1. The ECHOES team will choose the winners. There will be two age categories in both Ireland and Wales: 6–8 and 9–11 years. There will be four winners in total.

3.2. The winning entries will be those from the long list that the ECHOES team considers to be the best executed, taking age into account. The selection panel will be looking for images that best represent the Eurasian Curlew.

3.3. The four winners will be announced during ECHOES World Curlew Day Event on 21st April. Their parents or guardians will be notified 19–20th April.

4. OUR USE OF YOUR ENTRY

4.1. The winning entries will be published on Twitter (@ECHOESproj), Facebook and the ECHOES website (echoesproj.eu) on World Curlew Day, 21st April.

4.2. Entrants own the copyright to their Competition entry as its author.

5. CONSENT

5.1. When the parents or guardians of Entrants submit an entry to the Competition, they and the Entrants grant ECHOES: 1) A royalty-free, irrevocable, non-exclusive, worldwide transferable licence to use, reproduce, publish, distribute and display the entry (in whole or in part) on our website, social media or in any promotional materials that we may produce from time to time; and 2) The right to use the Entrant’s first name and age for the sole purpose of identifying the Entrant as the author of the entry.

5.2. We may use, reproduce, publish, distribute or display any entry, regardless of whether it was the winning entry.

6. PRIZES

6.1. The winning entrant will receive 20 Greetings cards and envelopes with their design on the front.

6.2. The parents or guardians of the winners will be notified by email on 21st April.

6.3. All reasonable endeavours will be made to send the prizes to the winners via post by end of May 2021.

6.4. No additional costs will be incurred by the winning entrant when claiming a prize.

6.5. The prices are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for an alternative prize, product or cash.

7. YOUR PERSONAL DATA

7.1. Your privacy and personal information are important to us. Any personal information that you provide to us will be dealt with in line with our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal information we collect from you, how and why we collect, store, use and share such information, your rights in relation to your personal information and how to contact us and supervisory authorities if you have a query or complaint about the use of your personal information. 8. GENERAL

8.1. ECHOES’ decision in respect of all matters relating to the Competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

8.2. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Twitter or Facebook or any other Social Media network.

8.3. It is your responsibility to advise us of any changes to your contact information.

8.4. ECHOES reserves the right to modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the Competition, and these terms and conditions, in whole or in part at any time at our sole discretion.

8.5. Time is not of the essence in relation to the performance of any obligations under these terms and conditions. We shall use our reasonable endeavours to meet all performance timeframes specified in these terms and conditions, but any such dates are approximate only.
